FAQ
Extending Legacy
Trees are among the most valuable forms of natural capital in our urban environment.
Throughout their lives, they provide essential services to the communities around them — cooling our cities through shade, capturing and storing carbon, filtering air pollution, slowing stormwater runoff, stabilizing soil, supporting biodiversity, and reducing building energy consumption.
Over decades, the cumulative value of these services can reach hundreds of thousands — even millions — of dollars per tree.
Yet when urban trees are removed due to development, storms, disease, or age, this extraordinary material resource is almost always discarded — chipped, burned, or sent to landfill.
We believe this material deserves a more meaningful future.
Lucid Dreaming champions the use of urban-salvaged timber, transforming trees from our cities into enduring furniture, architectural elements, and material-driven works. By reclaiming and stewarding this scarce resource, we honor the immense ecological and civic value these trees provided during their lifetime.
Each piece carries the story of a living system that supported the city for decades. Our role is to extend that legacy into the built environment.
